Healthcare Infections Associated with the Care and Treatment of Humans and Animals

The Southeastern Center for Emerging Biologic Threats (SECEBT)  Partner meeting will be held at the Emory Conference Center the evening of May 13, 2008.  The meeting will begin at 6pm and conclude around 8:30pm. 

Emory University will host SECEBT's conference on Healthcare Infections Associated with the Care and Treatment of Humans and Animals Healthcare Infections Associated with the Care in Atlanta, GA.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 14th and 15th, 2008.  Please see below for learning objectives for the conference. CME credit will be available.

Purpose / Objective

Participants will:

1. Understand healthcare infections, their complications, and they can be prevented;

2. Understand the challenges and trade-offs of new State an Federal regulations;

3. Increase their knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies;

4. Understand the challenges of surveillance techniques and the unintended consequences of public disclosure;

5. Review the impact of infections (zoonoses) in verterinary medicine and their implications to humans.
