Atlanta GA - Emory Conference Center

Objectives:

1. Explore the challenges and identify the gaps in responding to disasters and complex humanitarian emergencies
2. Determine how consortia of academic institutions and their full range of resources can augment emergency response agencies’ (government, NGOs, UN agencies) planning, response and recovery activities and how these consortia can contribute to community disaster resilience
3. Explore the use of emerging technologies to augment response
4. Assess the contribution of workforce competencies in response and recovery

This symposium is supported by funds through grants H75 CI000739 from the CDC/U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and SERCEB NIH U54-AI-047157. We would like to acknowledge our co-sponsor, CEPAR for their support.
