Presenters included experts from the CDC, Emory University, Tennessee Department of Health, University of Tennessee, St. Jude Children’s Research Center, Wyeth Vaccines Research, and Merck Vaccine Division. The conference improved the community’s understanding of reasons for recent shortages of vaccines, explained state and federal roles for responding to shortages, identified critical issues affecting vaccine development and production, and shared new technological breakthroughs.
